Our client is a leading contracting company offering professional and high-standard services to the construction industry in British Columbia. They have multiple offices and are adding a Project Manager to their light civil contracting division. They would prefer this individual to be based in Kamloops, BC but they are willing to hire someone from Kelowna, BC if they are willing travel to Kamloops three days a week.
The new hire will be directly responsible for the planning, management and execution of assigned projects while providing personal leadership to create positive and productive relationships with all internal and external parties and maximize the project performance and results.

Responsibilities :
- Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate company’s construction execution.
- This position may require travelling between various offices in BC.
- Participate in weekly or monthly or scheduled meetings of the Civil Construction Department to review project progress, discuss project or client issues, resources and equipment planning.
- Stays abreast of current developments and trends in all relevant technical / professional knowledge.
- Build an expert level of knowledge and understanding of various construction contract formats; reading / interpreting drawings and specifications; job costing system; environmental standards, etc.
- Responsible for complete understanding, interpretation and management of the Contract and identifying the situations that would be “out of contract” work, costs or required new rates for the company.
- Provides day-to-day direction, guidance and technical input for site staff in the execution of their responsibilities, including assisting in the development and implementation of on-site construction methods and procedures designed to improve job site productivity and improve “product quality.”
- Responsible for leading and motivating direct reports to achieve and exceed project profitability, site productivity, safety results, and achieve their personal and professional growth objectives.
