About Futurpreneur Canada
Futurpreneur is a national non-profit organization that empowers diverse entrepreneurs, ages 18-39 to start, buy and grow their businesses in Canada, by providing loans with mentorship and resources.
Founded in 1996, we have helped more than 20,000 young entrepreneurs launch over 15,600 businesses, promoting entrepreneurship among Canadian youth as a critical pillar for strengthening the economy while generating employment opportunities, and fostering a sustainable future.
Futurpreneur is a founding member of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance , the Canadian founding member of Youth Business International and the Canadian host of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW)
Our Purpose (why we exist) : To drive inclusive Canadian prosperity by fostering the success of young entrepreneurs
Our Mission (what we do every day to achieve our purpose) : To empower diverse entrepreneurs ages 18-39 by providing loans with mentorship and resources, enabling them to start or buy successful businesses that contribute to sustainable, inclusive economic prosperity in communities across Canada.
Our Values (how we work – our core principles & commitments) : We are mission-driven, collegial & collaborative, diverse & inclusive, and accountable & transparent.
Here’s the opportunity : Bilingual Communications and Content Manager
If you thrive on spotlighting the determination, heart and ambition of young entrepreneurs and mentors, and know how to amplify their stories across social, earned and owned media, this is the role for you.
The Bilingual Communications and Content Manager is responsible for co-developing the strategy and producing all content delivered by Futurpreneur’s Marketing and Communications team, both internally and in collaboration with vendors. You are the main guardian of our brand voice in English and French, and a key driver of an always-on content engine that is timely, culturally fluent and built to perform.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications, you will manage Futurpreneur’s bilingual content and editorial calendar, including planning and development, storytelling, design and translation. This includes managing content on the Futurpreneur website and blog, social media, email marketing, print collateral and marketing campaigns. In addition, you will lead bilingual communications for the organization, managing the strategy and execution of Futurpreneur’s communications, brand voice and key messaging, developing press releases and speaker notes, and generating / pitching compelling ideas that secure earned media coverage across our ecosystem.
This role requires equal parts creativity and exceptional attention to detail. You have a keen sense of the Canadian communications and PR landscape and understand what is resonating right now and what is on the horizon. You know how to make content feel native to each platform and audience without chasing trends that do not fit the brand. Just as importantly, you are also a strong people leader : you coach with compassion, set clear expectations and help others do the best work of their careers.
As a member of the Marketing and Communications team, you will work closely with internal teams and vendors, always with a focus on supporting stakeholders to achieve our organizational goals, from recruiting entrepreneurs and mentors to supporting our community through storytelling and amplifying our partnerships (both corporate and governmental). You will manage direct reports and relationships with internal subject matter experts and third-party agencies, freelance writers, translators, photographers and videographers. To you, creating bilingual content is much more than simply the translation at the end of a production line : you think user-first throughout the entire process, from conception and planning through delivery.
This existing role is a permanent, full-time position located in Toronto, ON or Montreal, QC. The incumbent will be working on our hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 2 days in-office per week.
What you will do : Strategy :
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications to research and develop personas and a strategic roadmap for our channels (website & blog, email, social, partnerships, influencers and paid).
- Set the standard for bilingual communications and content : how we show up, what we say, how we say it, and how it lands in English and French.
- Adapt our messaging to address market changes and the evolving needs of our audience.
- Create and maintain our editorial calendar to ensure consistency, frequency and quality across always-on and campaign deliverables.
- Refine Futurpreneur’s tone, voice and style guide and socialize our approach to ensure consistent implementation in both official languages.
- Keep a pulse on culture, media and platform shifts in Canada and translate insights into clear recommendations and content choices.
