Job Description Summary
GE Vernova’s Hydro Power business designs, develops, manufactures, and services advanced technologies that harness the power of water to deliver reliable and sustainable power. For more than a century, hydropower has played an essential role in the North American and global electricity systems. Today, hydropower is the world’s largest source of renewable energy, and its pumped storage technology is the world’s largest source of energy storage. To reach global net-zero by 2050, we need to double the current hydro capacity. Hydropower will continue to be a cornerstone of North America’s energy future.
Role Overview
The Site Quality Specialist ensures all construction activities meet quality standards and project specifications. Responsibilities include monitoring processes, conducting inspections, resolving quality issues, validating critical assemblies, reviewing instructions and documents, and ensuring compliance during erection and commissioning phases.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to implement quality plans and procedures.
- Manage document distribution, measurement devices, material traceability, and quality records.
- Handle Non-Conformance Management (NCM) registration and resolution.
- Produce inspection reports and maintain qualification registers.
- Supervise inspectors and third-party inspection teams on site.
- Participate in audits and ensure subcontractors’ instruments are calibrated.
- Identify special processes and ensure staff qualification.
- Organize quality records for the site quality book.
- Conduct audits and monitor corrective actions.
- Manage non-conformities, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Provide QA performance statistics and handle customer complaints.
