Introduction

Engineering and Technical Services Division is seeking Seasonal Operators to work with bridge maintenance operations.

Conditions of Employment :

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must have a valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s licence and travel extensively throughout the province.
• Must be able to work extended hours, including daily overtime and / or overtime on weekends, as well as statutory holidays as required.
• Must be able to work in all weather environments including extreme temperatures in both winter and summer and around job site hazards including construction equipment, rough terrain, roadway traffic, loud noises, dust, insects, vegetation and with chemicals and fumes.
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties / responsibilities of the position including operating hand / power tools, operating heavy duty maintenance equipment, bending, carrying / twisting, stand for extended periods of time, lifting up to 75 pounds and able to wear personal protective equipment.

Duties : As a member of a crew, the Seasonal Operator will perform labour associated with maintenance and repair on bridges, water infrastructure network including bridges over provincial waterways and / or highways.
