The opportunity:

This System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise systems and cloud platforms across the organization. The role will work closely with internal IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support Microsoft 365, Azure, Endpoint management, identity and access management, automation initiatives, and day-to-day infrastructure operations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), Teams, SharePoint Online, and Intune / Endpoint Manager.
  • Support Azure cloud infrastructure including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Azure Virtual Desktop, networking components, Key Vaults, and monitoring solutions.
  • Manage user lifecycle processes including provisioning, deprovisioning, group management, access reviews, MFA, and Conditional Access.
  • Maintain and support endpoint management solutions including Windows device administration, Intune deployments, compliance policies, application deployment, and patch management.
  • Assist with security and compliance initiatives including Microsoft Defender, Purview, security monitoring, and incident response support.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and other automation tools.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and troubleshoot operational issues across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in project implementations, upgrades, migrations, and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to resolve issues and support integrations.
  • Provide tier 2/3 technical support and escalation assistance when required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent experience and education.
  • System Administration (e.g. CompTIA, AS, BS) is an asset.
  • Relevant Microsoft or security certifications considered an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in a System Administrator or Infrastructure Support role.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 enterprise environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows environments and enterprise endpoints
  • Previous experience within the financial services industry is an asset
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, Intune, and Azure administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Azure Automation, Azure Virtual Desktop, Defender for Endpoint, Purview, Power Automate, and GitHub Enterprise integration.
  • Solid experience with AWS services; familiarity with cross-platform cloud environments.
  • Experience with WordPress and web technologies, including DNS and Web Application Firewalls.
  • Advanced troubleshooting expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure, Linux Server, and AWS environments.
  • AWS and/or Microsoft certifications are considered an asset.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic with a reliable and consistent approach.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Compensation & Benefits:

Range $65,000 - $81,000 annually.

This range represents Wellington-Altus's expected range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.

Wellington-Altus's total compensation package for employees may also include discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.
