Job description

Req ID:514280

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time Procurement Manager in Saint-Bruno we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your procurement and leadership expertise in a dynamic and innovative field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and solution-driven team, committed to delivering excellence.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our procurement activities by coordinating with buyers, driving supplier performance, and supporting project execution. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business (including engineering, quality, supply chain, and finance), lead negotiations, and manage the local procurement team, ensuring alignment with Alstom’s procurement strategies and goals.

You’ll specifically take care of supplier performance management and savings plan implementation, but also develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to secure future business opportunities.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Coordinating with buyers and the procurement team on purchasing activities, including organizational changes, supplier challenges, and Make or Buy decisions

  • Acting as a facilitator between the Procurement Function and Product Line operational members

  • Managing suppliers’ Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance to support project execution and tender commitments

  • Leading operational procurement responsibilities, including negotiations and cross-site/business bundling

  • Driving the Savings Plan during tender and project phases to achieve yearly profitability goals

  • Developing and managing the local Procurement team, including workload monitoring and process arbitration

  • Supporting commercial and contractual negotiations during project execution

  • Ensuring compliance with Alstom Procurement rules, processes, and tools

  • Providing site input to central Procurement to guide commodity strategies

  • Applying local risk management governance and developing mitigation plans

  • Ensuring supplier panel compliance with defined target panels and monitoring supplier performance

  • Driving continuous improvement within the local Procurement team

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing, Engineering (mechanical or industrial), or a related field

  • 10 years of work experience in procurement or a related field (management experience is an asset)

  • Experience in purchasing, negotiations, and assessing costs for labor and components

  • Knowledge of supplier performance metrics, including Quality, Cost Competitiveness, and On-Time Delivery

  • Familiarity with project management in a complex matrix environment, working across multiple functions

  • Proficiency in system tools such as SAP, PTP functionality, DFQ (Design for Quality), SOL (Sourcing Online), and QCDT management

  • Strong understanding of procurement tools, policies, and commodity strategies

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time

  • Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset when working with international stakeholders

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous routines

  • Work with cutting-edge procurement standards and tools

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning opportunities

  • Advance your career towards leadership roles in procurement and supply chain management

  • Enjoy a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Knowledge of a language other than French is an asset to facilitate communication with our partners, suppliers, colleagues, and international clients. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.
