Job description

Tasks

  • Manage the entire estimating process (receiving documents, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing bids, and transferring project files).
  • Actively identify and pursue suitable projects for bidding.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers regarding change orders and additional work.
  • Analyze actual project costs compared to the original estimates upon project completion.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings.
  • Visit job sites as required, negotiate with suppliers, and estimate labour costs.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications to accurately assess project costs.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Estimation, Electrical Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of CMEQ software (an asset).
  • Proficiency with computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and project management software).
  • Solid understanding of the electrical industry.
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset (approximately 30% of interactions are with English-speaking clients).
