Job Duties Job Duties 1. Provide instruction in computer classes to students enrolled in a variety of post-secondary programs.2. Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.3. Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.4. Utilize LMS for in person, online, and blended course delivery.5. Manage the classroom / lab / activities to ensure an optimal learning environment using an outcome-based approach.6. Respond to and accommodate the special learning needs of students, including equity groups and diverse learners.7. Use appropriate evaluation methods, record student progress, and provide feedback.8. Make necessary curriculum adjustments to course content.9. Follow academic regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.10. Work cooperatively with program heads and colleagues in an interdependent “team” environment.11. Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with industry and educational requirements.12. Attend staff, program, and school meetings. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) 1. Microsoft Certification (MS Office or related) in addition to a four year degree and two years recent / relevant industry experience or post-secondary teaching experience
A two year diploma in Computer Science with four years of recent / relevant experience in programming and / or database management or post-secondary teaching experience
A four year Bachelor degree in Computer Science with two years recent / relevant industry experience or post-secondary teaching experience.
2. Demonstrated proficiency and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
3. Experience in the design, development, and delivery of short term (1 to 3 days) training sessions in computer application software aimed at adult learners.
4. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
5. Effective interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
6. Effective instructional ability.
7. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
8. Knowledge of history, current status, and use of Internet applications and services.
9. Demonstrates valuing diversity. Desired QSA Required Competencies
