Job description
Tire Retread Technician.

Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Are you mechanically inclined and looking for a hands-on opportunity in manufacturing? Kal Tire is seeking Tire Retread Technicians to join our team at our re-manufacturing facility in Bridgewater, NS. As a Tire Retread Technician, you’ll play a key role in extending the life of commercial tires through the retreading process, helping reduce waste and support our commitment to sustainability. You’ll be part of a close-knit production team that values precision, safety, and teamwork.
What to Expect in This Role:To help you decide if this role is the right fit, here’s what a typical day looks like:
  • You’ll work in a manufacturing environment that can be warm, noisy, and fast-paced.
  • You’ll be on your feet most of the day, using hand tools and machines to inspect, buff, and prepare tires for retreading.
  • The work is repetitive but methodical, requiring patience and a strong attention to detail.
  • You’ll wear protective gear (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) and follow strict safety procedures.
  • You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to meet daily production goals.

Training & Onboarding:We know the first few months are crucial, that’s why we provide:
  • Paid training, covering retread operations.
  • Skill progression, through all parts of the tire remanufacturing process.
  • Clear expectations and feedback at each stage of your training.
Pay & Benefits:
  • Starting wage of $18.50 per hour dependent on experience. We offer a clear path for career advancement with wage increases along the way.
  • Monthly performance bonus program.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Defined contribution pension plan and RRSP/DPSP matching.
  • Employee discounts on tires and mechanical services.
  • Career growth: opportunities to advance into Lead Hand, Team Lead, or Supervisor roles.
Schedule & Work Environment:
  • Full-time day shifts.
  • No Shift Rotation.
  • Sundays and Holidays off.
  • Overtime available during peak seasons.

This Job Might Be a Great Fit If You:
  • Enjoy working with your hands and seeing tangible results from your work.
  • Like structure, routine, and being part of a team that values quality and safety.
  • Are physically active and comfortable standing for long periods.
  • Take pride in detail-oriented, steady work in a production setting.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience working with tools or equipment.
  • Ability to use PPE and follow safety procedures.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, attendance and teamwork are essential.
  • Basic computer skills for recording production data.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
To be considered for this position at this time, candidates must be legally eligible to work for any Canadian employer. A Canadian Criminal Record Check may be required for certain positions as part of the final stages of the hiring process.
