JOB SYNOPSIS:
Under the direction of the Brand Director, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning,
coordinating, and executing Whitewater Mountain Resort's content and communications strategy across all guest-facing
and internal marketing channels. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for the resort's day-to-day
communications, campaign execution, and storytelling, with content creation as the primary tool rather than the end goal.


Working closely with departments across the Resort, this role develops engaging content that tells Whitewater's story,
supports business objectives, and strengthens the Resort's brand year-round.


The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for managing the content calendar with Whitewater’s
Content Coordinators, drafting marketing communications, producing compelling written and visual content, and ensuring
consistent messaging across digital, print, media, and internal channels. The successful candidate is an organized
storyteller who can balance long-term planning with the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities, weather,
operations, and events.


SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Planning & Communications

  • Own and maintain the marketing content calendar in collaboration with the Brand Director and internal departments.
  • Coordinate marketing requests and prioritize projects and content based on strategic business objectives.
  • Plan and execute communications across social media, website, email marketing, digital signage, advertising, and other guest communication channels.
  • Write clear, engaging copy for newsletters, website content, blogs, social media, media releases, advertising, and internal communications.
  • Develop seasonal storytelling campaigns that promote Whitewater's experiences, products, events, and people.
  • Ensure all communications are accurate, timely, consistent, and aligned with Whitewater's brand voice.

Content Creation

  • Capture and edit photo and video content in coordination with our Content Coordinators and media team.
  • Produce engaging written, photo, and video content for social media, website, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
  • Coordinate content shoots with athletes, ambassadors, partners, staff, and guests.
  • Organize and maintain Whitewater's digital photo and video library.
  • Identify storytelling opportunities, milestones, and guest experiences worth sharing across all departments.

Campaign Execution

  • Work with the Sales & Marketing team to execute campaigns from concept through delivery.
  • Work closely with Guest Services, Events, Snow School, Food & Beverage, Retail, Outdoor Operations, and other departments to support marketing initiatives and drive visitation and revenue.
  • Assist in planning product launches, promotions, seasonal campaigns, and resort events.
  • Support media visits, public relations initiatives, and influencer partnerships.
  • Coordinate production of marketing collateral with internal and external partners.

Digital Marketing

  • Work with Content Coordinators to manage Whitewater's social media channels and publishing schedule.
  • Assist with website updates and content management.
  • Support email marketing campaigns and audience segmentation.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide recommendations using analytics and reporting tools, providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement and achieve marketing objectives.

Brand Stewardship

  • Champion Whitewater's brand standards across all communications.
  • Help ensure messaging is accurate and consistent across all guest touchpoints.
  • Act as a brand ambassador both on and off the mountain.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, content marketing, or digital media.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Experience planning and managing content calendars.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital communications.
  • Experience with website content management systems.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva.
  • Experience capturing and editing photography and video.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and marketing performance metrics is an asset.
  • Experience with project management software is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of social media trends and digital marketing best practices.
  • Passion for skiing, snowboarding, mountain culture, and the outdoor industry is an asset.
  • Effective communication with senior management, supervisors, and other industry professionals.
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
  • Skiing or snowboarding at an intermediate / advanced ability level.
