Job description

Vice President, Sales Area Australia & New Zealand

Do you have a strong background in sales leadership within the mining industries, and a passion for driving performance in a dynamic, customer-focused environment? Then we’d like to hear from you!

At Mining, a business area within Sandvik Group, we’re now looking for a Vice President for our Australia and New Zealand (AUNZ) Sales Area – a strategic leader to drive growth, lead a high-performing team, and strengthen our position as the market leader in our segments.

A few words about us

Sandvik’s Mining business area is a global leader in equipment, tools, parts, service, digital solutions, and sustainability-driven technologies for the mining and construction industries. With passion, expertise, and an innovative mindset, we provide our customers with the best overall experience and help enable the sustainable mine of the future.

In 2024, our business area had approximately 64 billion SEK in sales and employed around 17,000 people worldwide. Want to be part of transforming the global mining and construction industries? Welcome to our world!

Yo ur mission

As Vice President of Sales for AUNZ, you're accountable for the overall performance and results of the Sales Area, including revenue development, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. Simultaneously, your role includes a broader responsibility of representing Sandvik at the national level, as you’re the Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand—driving business growth, strengthening market presence, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders across industry, government, and the community. In close partnership with global business units, you’re at the forefront of shaping our sales and service strategies, ensuring alignment with Sandvik’s long-term strategy.

Beyond your regional responsibilities, you ‘re an integral part of the Sandvik Mining extended leadership team, where you help steer cross-functional transformation and contribute to the company’s long-term success. In this dual-capacity leadership role, you’re entrusted with the oversight, governance, and operational performance of Sandvik’s legal entities, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute the Sales Area strategy in collaboration with Mining’s divisions.
  • Lead and develop strong customer relationships through direct engagement, driving long-term value.
  • Drive business development across multiple divisions and secure key strategic deals that support sustainable growth.
  • Build a customer-centric, agile, and high-performing organization that embraces continuous improvement.
  • Lead and inspire the Sales Area management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top talent across the organization while actively championing initiatives to build a more inclusive and representative workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and all relevant government, industry, and customer regulations.
  • Represent the AUNZ Sales Area in global forums and contribute to the broader success of Sandvik Mining.

Your profile

You’re a strategic and hands-on sales executive with a proven ability to lead in a matrix organization and inspire teams to deliver exceptional results. You're also a confident communicator and negotiator, with a strong customer focus and a collaborative mindset.

To succeed in this role, you should have :

  • Extensive experience in the mining, construction or mining services industries, with a deep understanding of mining industry dynamics, market trends and key players.
  • A strong track record of leading large, multifunctional sales and service organizations in a B2B environment.
  • Experience in developing and managing key customer relationships and driving business development across multiple divisions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cultural and organizational transformation, with a focus on agility, innovation, and performance.
  • Strong financial acumen and a strategic, growth-oriented mindset.
  • A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, engineering, or related field).
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Our culture

At Sandvik, we’re tech driven, innovative and entrepreneurial. We believe that success is a team effort so we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive culture where people can be themselves and reach their full potential. We invest in supporting each other, learning together and celebrating our differences. Visit our stories hub , LinkedIn Opens in new window or Facebook Opens in new window to get to know us further.
