Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for the Firm supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of the Firm’s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications. Position Description:
Our team is charged of building solutions and tool for both the on-prem and public cloud solutions, interfacing with the engineering teams and apps. We are responsible for delivering solutions that help drive users to the. In our team, you will work with command line, RESTful services, front-end interfaces, application-tier logic, and database code. Our products are the entry doors of our cloud platforms for the customers, hence affords opportunities to work with business users. Our development team is part of the Cloud Fleet within Enterprise Computing and is well aligned with back-end infrastructure and IaaS systems, interacting with a variety of engineers and developers.The opening is for a senior developer with experience developing a multi-tier web application including back-end enterprise software and infrastructure management tools, with Kubernetes experience. Primary Responsibilities:
– Responsible for developing and reviewing code and contributing ideas to a team of talented technologists.
– Facilitate technical discussions and the development of web applications, web services, and public APIs that support hundreds of users.
– Participate in the design of web application.
– Understand software requirements.
– Implement various parts of our applications using Python.
– Formulate and implement recommendations/solutions.
– Due to the global nature of the team and function, you will be required from time to time to work and collaborate with colleagues located in US, Europe and Asia. Required Skills:
– Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience developing with Python
– Knowledge of Cloud Computing
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
– Knowledge in Linux/Shell
– TDD, CI, Agile and iterative software development
– Experience with application code and configuration scanning for best practice
– Designing and building RESTful service applications and clients
– The ability to effectively communicate with a global team and customers
– A solid understanding of change management processes
– Able to write and present comprehensive technical content / documentation
– Excellent problem-solving skills, and eye for solving performance issues Skills Desired:
– Thorough knowledge of database technologies such as MongoDB/PostGres
– Knowledge of Openshift
– Knowledge of HTML/Javascript/CSS
– General understanding of Apache
– Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP protocols
– Experience with Python web framework development such as Flask/FastAPI
– Strong Kubernetes experience setting up applications using Helm
