The anticipated start date is September 1, 2026. This is a two-year limited term position with possibility of renewal.

Our research group works on superconducting circuit devices for quantum information processing, with emphasis on advancing superconducting qubit performance at both the physical and error-corrected logical levels for quantum computation.

The Research Associate is expected to independently carry out experimental research on superconducting qubits. This role involves developing advanced superconducting circuits and advanced quantum control techniques to suppress decoherence and enhance logical gate performance, with a near-term focus on implementing quantum error correction schemes incorporating qubits dominated by erasure errors. The candidate will also be responsible for the general testing and characterization of superconducting devices in the group, as well as the operation and management of dilution refrigerators. In addition, the Research Associate will closely interface with theoretical collaborators to implement novel concepts and protocols.

Applicants should apply online at the link below and include a cover letter, curriculum vitae and three reference names with their contact addresses and phone numbers. Any questions regarding this position should be directed to Ms. Joane Magnaye, Senior Secretary, Quantum Optics, Condensed Matter and Biophysics Group at joan.magnaye@utoronto.ca.
