Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH is a vibrant community hospital delivering a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. Directly serving a growing population of more than 60,000 residents spread across a mix of urban and rural settings, NHH directly employs approximately 750 people and relies on the additional support provided by a highly engaged and supportive network of physicians, midwives and volunteers.
Reporting directly to the Patient Care Manager, Emergency Department (ED), the Clinical Project Lead works collaboratively with internal and external key stakeholders to develop, deliver and lead program improvement and development activities, embed clinical best practices, and collaborate with the interprofessional teams. The primary focus of the Project Manager will be advancing quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the department and across the organization. The successful proponent will critical analysis, including an evaluation of current state while supporting collaborative engagement of key stakeholders to inform patient centered improvement opportunities.
- Developing a detailed project plan that identifies and addresses the activities, timelines, linkages, risks, communications, and financial / staff resources required to support the successful implementation of the key deliverables.
- Analysis and preparation process / workflow documentation.
- Formulate and define systems scope and project objectives through research activities.
- Managing the project team and the day-to-day implementation of the approved project plan, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships and communications.
- Participate in and facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations related to requirements gathering, scope definition, and scope delivery.
- Supporting the development of change management strategies and plans, legislative / regulatory changes and new or potential transformation opportunities.
- Identifying issues as they arise, developing and recommending solutions that are consistent with the project plan.
- Regularly reviewing project risks and developing risk responses and mitigation strategies for any new high-level risks.
- Develop and review relevant user training documentation.
- Create and maintain project-related documentation, including, but not limited to, Information Architecture (IA) diagrams, user stories, user journeys, risk registry, WBS, quality and change management plans, Issues log, status and progress reports, communications plan, acceptance documents, standard operation procedures and lessons learned.
- Performs all other functions as assigned.
- Degree or diploma in engineering, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Accreditation.
- Previous experience in project management or blend of functional management and project management experience, with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering complex projects, with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated professional, leadership and operations experience working in various sectors of the health care system.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario health care system, its stakeholders, and programs.
- Other certification (Lean / Six Sigma, ITIL, Change Management) is an asset.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project is an asset.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx is an asset.
- Basic understanding of enterprise resource planning concepts and processes is an asset.
Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire. This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.
Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
