Halton Healthcare is on the cusp of a significant organizational transformation, driven by a commitment to integrated health services and exceptional patient care. The new Vice President, Medical and Academic Affairs (VPMA) role will be crucial for leading this evolution and enhancing Halton Healthcare’s stature as a leader in healthcare innovation. As the VPMA, you will be instrumental in overseeing and executing strategic initiatives that reinforce the vision of “One Halton Healthcare.” This role involves leading the integration and enhancement of medical and academic affairs across multiple sites, ensuring high standards of care, and advancing educational and research partnerships.
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, and working closely with the Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President Clinical Programs, and Chief Nursing Executive, you will :
- Champion the centralization of program leadership to streamline operations and improve care quality.
- Lead the integration of medical services across the organization, fostering a unified and integrated approach to healthcare delivery.
- Enhance academic and research collaborations that contribute to Halton Healthcare’s mission and community impact.
- Drive strategic initiatives that promote patient-centered care and operational excellence.
Experience Required
The successful candidate will be physician licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario or eligible for licensure. You are an experienced, inclusive and visionary leader with credentials and experience in both medical leadership and clinical practice. You are firm, fair, and highly regarded in your field of medical practice and have a breadth of medical leadership experience in formal leadership roles. Equally comfortable in the clinical and administrative environments, you understand the needs of physicians in hospitals, and can support them in change management and opportunities for integrated care. You possess superb interpersonal, communication (oral and written), negotiation and change management skills and have a history of providing leadership to and team building with professional and clinical staff. Recognized as an effective change leader and successful in building relationships, you have demonstrated your commitment to quality improvement and broader systems-level change. You provide strategic leadership in an evolving, patient centred healthcare organization and industry, partnering with multi-level internal and external stakeholders. You understand what’s needed to be successful for a multi-site growing organization providing complex care to multiple communities with diverse needs
