We're seeking an Associate Principal in Fire Protection Engineering with significant management experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in fire protection engineering, exceptional project management skills, and the desire and capability to run an office. The Associate Principal will play a critical role in shaping the direction and success of the fire protection engineering practice, driving growth, fostering innovation, and delivering exceptional client service.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage a team of fire protection engineers and technical staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional growth and development.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering innovative solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Drive business development efforts, identifying opportunities for growth, developing strategic plans, and cultivating new client relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align goals and priorities, support cross-functional initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Take an active role in office management, overseeing day-to-day operations, resource allocation, and budget management to ensure efficient office functioning.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence, empowering team members to excel and achieve their full potential.

Skills and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license or equivalent technical certification.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in fire protection engineering, with a strong track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive results, and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to identify business opportunities and drive business development efforts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement plans to achieve business objectives and enhance the firm's competitive position.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, budget management, and resource planning.
  • Desire and capability to run an office, including overseeing day-to-day operations and business development activities.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
  • The base salary range for this position is between $180,000 and $220,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications. The bonus package includes performance bonuses and relocation allowance if necessary.
