Position : Retail Sales Representative / Merchandiser

Region : St. John's, Newfoundland

Reports To : Sales Manager

Anticipated Start Date : May 15, 2022

We pride ourselves on having a dedicated sales team, strong customer service orientation, extensive product knowledge, and a professional, challenging, and rewarding work environment.

Summary

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all accounts within their specified territory. Additionally, gathering field information and representing our clients in a professional and courteous manner are vital to the success of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Make store visits to new and existing retailers.
Provide store-level support on new product launches and initiatives.
Manage retail distributors and pre-sell feature activity, tracking featured activity.
Manage shelf space and product placement.
Build rapport at store and head office levels.
Participate in various distributor and food-related trade shows.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a strong command of English.

Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Effective presentation skills in both boardroom and kitchen settings.

Self-starter capable of working independently.

Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Ability to perform essential job functions.

Work may be performed in an office, warehouse, or restaurant environment.

Stand for extended periods, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.

Potential exposure to dust; ability to lift or push up to 50 pounds.

Flexible work hours, including some weekends, to meet job demands.

Travel up to 80% within the territory; overnight stays may be required.
