Job Description
The Director, Marketing (HIV / AIDS) will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the HIV / AIDS strategic business plan, support the tactical execution and overall promotion / positioning for the HIV franchise which includes both HIV Treatment and HIV Prevention. You will lead the development of the HIV / AIDS lifecycle plan and support the launch of new products / indications in the category. You will provide strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, lead change, drive results, and manage direct reports and the cross-functional therapeutic team. This position reports into the Senior Director, Marketing / Sales, HIV / AIDS.
Key Responsibilities
Must have excellent management skills to lead a cross-functional therapeutic team and senior marketing professionals. Profecisnt in performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, recruitment and selection, meeting management and plan execution.
Utilizes multiple sources of information (e.g. primary and secondary market research, advisory boards, competitive intelligence) to uncover insights relevant to the development of franchise strategy and tactical plans
Contributes to the formation of franchise strategy for HIV / AIDS and the overall Brand Plan and Promotional Plan for Action (POA).
Leads the development of tactical plans, messaging and communication strategy, and other customer initiatives aligned to the field sales POA
Leads the execution of the field sales POA, including development of sales tools, coordination with sales training, execution of sales meetings, and driving for results
Excellent communication skills, highly competent presenter, able to gain credibility, engender trust and influence all levels, strong partnering skills, bias for action and tangible results
Organizational skill, including ability to follow assignments through to completion (bias towards execution).
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines.
Must have strong executive presence with ability to command respect through exercise of sound business judgment and clear decision-making.
Must have demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects / priorities.
Must be able to successfully perform complex budget management with an understanding of revenue forecasting.
Successfully develop external relationships leading to brand advocacy.
Direct-to-Patient Track record of successful pharma / biotech patient / community marketing with an understanding of expense budget planning and tracking is expected.
e-Marketing and ability to translate brand objectives into e-tactical plan.
In-depth understanding of digital media.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
10+ years of experience.
A bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields is required.
Advanced experience with product lifecycle management is preferred.
An advanced science degree such as MD, PharmD, PhD or an advanced business degree such as an MBA is desirable.Extensive knowledge and experience in pharmaceutical product life cycle management in a variety of therapeutic areas preferred.
Prior people management experience strongly preferred.
Direct-to-Patient - A minimum of 3 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers or patients are required.
An MBA degree or equivalent is preferred.
