Job description

Key Responsibilities :

Product Design and Testing

Produce CAD drawings of products and variations, in 2D draft & 3D
modelling
Update product drawings to meet industry and customer standards such
as RoHS compliant
In a back-up capacity, produce Bills of Material / product, structures for
new product
Participate in product, testing, and qualification programs
Produce test fixtures as required
Proof / validate drawings and specifications developed by others

Sales Support

Provide product drawings and 3D models for presentation or proposals to

customers

In a back-up capacity, provide engineering specifications

In a back-up capacity, perform tests and document results as per Sales /

marketing requests.

In a back-up capacity, provide technical and sales support such as SEO,

brochures, Ordering Guides

Quality Assurance

In a back-up capacity, inspect products and confirm compliance with

quality specifications

Document deviation from specifications and liaise with Edac (Taiwan) or

Edac (Dongguan) regarding corrective action

In a back-up capacity, prepare Corrective Action Reports for response to

customers

Other Engineering Functions

Write engineering specifications, design specifications, plating

specifications, and Quality Assurance / test specifications as required,

Write special variation specifications as per customer requirements,

Write / develop product structures (BoM's) as required,

Write / develop / gather material specifications,

Maintain documentation related to drawings and specifications,

Write other Engineering documentation as required,

Read and observe procedures in the EDAC personnel and safety manual

Language Requirements

Fluent in written and spoken English

Mandarin speaking is optional

QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. University degree in the same discipline

preferred but not required.

Experience Required :

A. Minimum 2 years as Junior Engineer or in any Mechanical Engineering related experience in

manufacturing environment

B. Intermediate in 2D & 3D Model Methodology with beginner level of GD&T

C. Experienced in BOM or part number creation

D. Experienced in engineering specifications such as test report, product specs, instruction manual or

brochure

E. Intermediate level in 3D Modelling using Solid Works and CAD drafting (AutoCAD or Draftsight)

F. Experience in component design working with a design engineer, preferably in connector or related

industry.

G. Some level of experience in additive manufacturing

Skills Required :

A. Good planning & organizational skills

B. Proficient in MS Office such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint

C. Intermediate level in CAD Tools such as Solid works, AutoCAD, or Draft sight
