VenorHalifax, NSVenor is proud to partner with the Halifax Port Authority (HPA) on their search for an experienced Systems Analyst . This is a contract position with an expected duration of 12-months.
Reporting to the Director of IT, the Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in defining and analyzing requirements for a centralized data integration platform and Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboard strategy within the port-wide ecosystem. Leveraging the Microsoft Azure and Databricks platforms, this individual will collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups to ensure the effective consolidation, analysis, and visualization of critical data, supporting enhanced decision-making and operational efficiency.
What you’ll be doing
- Work closely with Director of IT, IT project Manager, data integration team, consultants, business units, and external JOC partners to gather and analyze requirements for the centralized data integration and BI dashboard initiatives.
- Lead the design and specification of system architectures, data models, and integration workflows, ensuring alignment with the port authority’s strategic objectives and IT standards.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure / Databricks solutions and tools to support data integration, analytics, and BI dashboard development, considering performance, and security requirements.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings to achieve consensus on reports and dashboard requirements, and design, effectively managing expectations and ensuring clear communication.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications, creating detailed documentation.
- Guide the implementation of data governance and quality standards within the data integration and BI dashboard solutions, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and privacy.
- Support the change management process, including training and user support materials, to facilitate the successful adoption of new data integration and BI solutions.
- Conduct rigorous system testing and validation with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and the system performs as expected.
- Manage and prioritize a portfolio of analytical projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic priorities.
