The Health & Safety Business Partner serves as a strategic ally for the Western region, driving the execution and support of our health and safety program. This role leverages extensive health and safety knowledge, problem-solving skills, and communication abilities to provide guidance to leaders and staff on a wide range of safety matters. This position is integral to health and safety planning, program implementation, policy execution, safety performance, and training across all levels of the organization, with a requirement to participate in strategic support visits nationwide.

Key Responsibilities :
Lead and integrate the Environment, Health & Safety ( EHS) management system to foster a robust safety culture through continuous improvement principles.
Promote a healthy workplace free from violence and harassment.
Collaborate with the EHS team and business partners to enhance injury frequency rates.
Monitor and report safety performance trends to business leaders.
Educate and influence management on unique safety requirements affecting business operations.
Monitor, review, and report on health and safety performance indicators.
Evaluate and recommend improvements in work processes, equipment, productivity, and cost containment.
Conduct incident investigations, ensuring accurate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Investigate workplace violence and harassment incidents, completing reports based on findings.
Conduct EHS audits, identifying hazards, non-compliance, and recommending mitigation strategies.
Integrate health and safety measures into new processes, equipment, and contract work.
Provide in-depth guidance and support to managers for the safety and health of associates, customers, and the environment.
Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety, Science, Business, or a related field
5-7 years of progressive Health & Safety experience
Ability to travel 20-40% of time
Completion of or progress towards the CRSP designation
In-depth knowledge of Canadian OHS legislation
Experience in complex, matrix environments, preferably global
Proficiency in Workday and associated business processes
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Professional attitude and ability to handle stressful situations
