Job descriptionEarly Childhood Educator (ECE) License to Practice required; Infant & Toddler (I / T) and / or Special Needs certification preferred. Preferred minimum 3 years experience in an early childhood setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership or management role. Strong knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and Early Learning Framework. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Current First Aid Certificate and Criminal Record Check. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy childcare environment. Vacation pay 4% (per BC Employment Standards). Three weeks paid time off per year : one week at Christmas, one week at Spring Break, one week at end of August. Dental care, extended health care, life insurance, vision care.

Overview
Mt. Arrowsmith Infant & Toddler Care Ltd. is a dedicated early childhood program that provides high‑quality care and education for infants and toddlers in a nurturing environment. The Manager leads daily operations, supports a team of caring educators, and ensures compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and ensure compliance with BC Child Care Licensing Regulations.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to staff.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and community partners.
- Manage enrollment, waitlists, and child records.
- Maintain licensing and safety standards, including facility inspections and documentation.
- Support curriculum planning and program development aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework.
- Coordinate staff scheduling and assist with administrative duties as needed.
- Recruit, train, and evaluate staff performance.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s progress and centre updates.
Qualifications
Compensation & Benefits
Starting wage : $26.50 / hour + $6.00 / hour ECE Wage Enhancement (total $32.50 / hour).
Benefits package : Offered after 6 months of employment.
