Job descriptionBachelor of Education Degree (Secondary or Post-Secondary). Bachelor’s degree with a major in English or Communications. Knowledgeable of the fundamentals of English / Communications. Understanding of classroom management and instructional techniques currently being utilized in a teaching and learning environment. Ability to communicate effectively. Organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs of students. Proficiency and / or a willingness to embrace teaching and learning technologies to support the student learning experience. Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with other faculty and staff. Commitment to teaching excellence and to supporting and delivering a positive student learning experience. When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided. Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and / or professional memberships as required for the position. Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position. Acknowledges the requirement for participating in ongoing training and professional development, including the completion of courses required for Post-Secondary Instructor Certification ( www.gov.nl.ca / educational / post-secondary-education / post-secondary-instructor-certification / ) as specified for instructors. Acknowledges the requirement for maintaining applicable licenses, certifications, and / or professional memberships as required for the position. Acknowledges that courses may be assigned outside the instructor’s regular area of instruction based on their qualifications. This position is located at Prince Philip Drive Campus. - Organize and manage instructional materials and the learning environment.
- Provide academic advice to learners relating to their programs and courses.
- Conduct accreditation reviews.
- Perform other related as required.
