  • Provide instruction to students enrolled in the Auto Body & Collision Technician program.
  • Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
  • Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
  • Use digital tools proficiently, including typical architectural software and general office applications.
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
  • Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
  • Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
  • Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
  • Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
  • Attend program and school meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Certificate in the Auto Body & Collision Technician trade.
  • Two years’ recent / relevant post-journeyperson experience as an Auto Body & Collision Technician.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e­mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
  • Desired QSA Required Competencies
