Job Description The incumbent is responsible for performing all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient and effective manner. Not to be confined to shop activities alone, the Auto Technician is also expected to do field repair work on down buses either within the city limits or in the rural areas.Must work in accordance with OH&S Safety Regulations, Government Inspecting Standards and Division best practices. Must be able to work cooperatively with Operations Personnel, School Bus Drivers and fellow workers.Specific Accountabilities : Adhere to the Division standards and processes in the completion of all documentation associated with equipment repairs.Works to ensure that goals related to efficiencies and daily operational needs are achieved.Follows procedures and guidelines as established by Red Deer Catholic School DivisionComplete and sign off government six-month inspections (government CVIP)Works with shop management to maintain schedule compliance and prioritiesDiagnose equipment problems as reported by operations personnel (drivers, dispatch etc)Maintains a clean and orderly work environment on a daily basisSuggest areas where training is needed.
