Job Title : Heavy Equipment Technician

Location : Central Ontario

Base Rate : $62.50 / hr.

OT : 4 hours daily paid out at $93.75 / hr.

Schedule : 14X14 - 12-hour days

Night Shift Premium : $1.25 / hr.

Accommodations : Camp accommodations

Flights Paid : Yes, fly into the location from any major airport in Canada

Tools Provided : Tools will be provided

Travel Time : Paid to and from the site daily and at each end of your set

Big Country Equipment is a BC-based heavy equipment service and repair company that works with resource-based customers in the construction, forestry, mining, and oil and gas sectors in Western Canada. Big Country Equipment was formed in 2017. We have grown rapidly from a one-truck operation to over 100 employees and a fleet of over 30 fully tooled service trucks, taking care of customers throughout Western Canada 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We are looking for self-starters who are career-minded, ready, and willing to get the job done in a safe, positive manner, and must be able to work professionally with co-workers and customers. This job is in many locations across BC, and we are mainly servicing open pit mining operations.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various types of heavy mining equipment.
• Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to determine repairs and create detailed service reports.
• Transmission and drive-train repairs : repairing or replacing transmission components, differential gears, and drive shafts.
• Interpret and complete both scheduled and unscheduled work orders.
• Contribute to the ongoing reliability of all heavy equipment and complete preventative maintenance requirements.
• Test repaired equipment to verify proper maintenance.
• Make recommendations regarding repairs and methods for improvement.
