We are seeking a highly motivated and result-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) to join our growing team. The ASM will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth and market share. The ASM will manage existing accounts both at the field level as well as at the corporate level and will also be responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities.
General Requirements
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the responsible channel to achieve revenue & growth.
Call on prospective customers, providing product information and knowledge.
Understand customer needs and provide solutions to add value and grow the business.
Organize and work trade shows, counter days, and end user calls.
Identify customer opportunities and actively promote key products and innovations.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers, both existing and potential.
Use experience working with and managing manufacturer representatives and indirect reports.
Manage sales to meet and exceed sales and profitability targets while managing budgets.
Develop and manage Product Line Reviews, Competitive Shops and S.W.O.T. analysis.
Analyze multiple channels and markets.
Develop and maintain strong business relationships internally as well as externally.
Formulate sales plans and translate those into forecasts.
Apply a high technical aptitude to all aspects of the sales process.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
Exceptional customer service skills that develop good relationships and builds confidence with current and prospective customers.
Highly organized and punctual with the ability to multi-task, be flexible, prioritize and effectively plan tasks and manage time to ensure that goals are met.
Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and business associates to create opportunities, solve problems, and achieve goals.
Demonstrates problem solving and decision-making ability with a positive attitude that drives results.
Proficient with MS Office : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Education & Experience
4+ years progressive selling experience with electrical distributors or wholesalers, industrial distributors, (STAFDA), Electronic channel, and home center accounts.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, business or relevant field.
Experience organizing and working trade shows, counter days, and end user calls.
Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales and profitability targets while managing budgets.
Physical Demands
This position is working mainly on the road and sometimes in an office environment. It may require long periods of sitting and working on a computer.
The ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds is required.
