About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Carpenter to support the erection of a timber foot bridge replacement project located in Smith Falls, Ontario . This position will report to the StructureCraft Builders Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or Project Coordinator to deliver high quality wood structures safely, on time and on budget.

This is a full‑time, temporary position tied to the project, with an expected duration from approximately September 2, 2025 to November 2025.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fully comply with StructureCraft, OH&S and Contractor safety requirements.
  • Perform all on‑site carpentry tasks, such as mass timber work, light wood framing, back‑framing, and layout.
  • Perform concrete formwork tasks in preparation for concrete pours.
  • Perform pre‑assembly work involving different materials such as timber, steel, fasteners, etc.
  • Perform rigging and hoisting tasks with site crew.
  • Use carpentry and general construction hand tools, power tools, nail guns, portable saws, etc.
  • Use personal protective equipment including fall protection equipment (after training and certification), hard hats, high‑vis vests, safety footwear, glasses, etc.
  • May be required to operate forklifts and manlifts (after training and certification).
  • Participate in all safety requirements on projects and take part in daily job hazard assessments and weekly toolbox safety meetings.
  • Assist the team with any general construction activities as needed, including clean up and demolition, receiving material, offloading, staging, site finishing and deficiency correction.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with framing, formwork and finishing is an asset.
  • Experience in the erection of buildings while performing the work with assistance of mobile cranes and tower cranes.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive work attitude and ability to work in teams.
  • Preferred Candidate will have

  • Journeyman Carpentry certification.
  • Fall arrest and aerial lift certifications.
  • Minimum of 3 years construction related experience.
