Job descriptionAct as the first responder for electrical and mechanical issues affecting service availability. monitor and support equipment including generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS, PDU, AHU / CRAH / CRAC, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems (BMS / EPMS). Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs through innovative solutions. Possess and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada (as required). Au moins 2 ans d’expérience dans l’exploitation d’un centre de données ou de bâtiment, ou une expérience équivalente dans un environnement critique. Connaissance approfondie des systèmes de centres de données électriques et mécaniques (génératrices, transformateurs, équipements de distribution, UPS, ATS, pompes, ventilation et climatisation, systèmes BMS / EPMS et analyse des données). Capacité de travailler sur appel pour fournir un soutien en dehors des heures normales de travail. Le candidat doit pouvoir soulever jusqu’à 22 kg (49 lbs) et / ou travailler en hauteur et sur des échelles. Compétences solides en communication verbale et écrite, en français et en anglais. Ce rôle nécessite des interactions avec d’autres entités d’Amazon à l’échelle mondiale et avec des employés et intervenants dans d’autres provinces canadiennes; connaissance du français et de l’anglais exigée. AWS est une entreprise de technologie très dynamique et leader mondial dans le domaine des centres de données. Le poste exige l’entretien des équipements électriques, mécaniques et de protection incendie dans le centre de données. Le technicien d’exploitation de centres de données est le premier intervenant dans les cas de problèmes électriques et mécaniques touchant la disponibilité des services Amazon.
AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an Engineering and Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The Engineering and Operations Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and fire / life safety equipment within the data center. The Engineering and Operations Technician serves as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers. Data center equipment that supports mission-critical servers must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. The Engineering and Operations Technician is also tasked with driving innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities. They are Amazon’s front line responders for electrical and mechanical issues affecting availability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain electrical, mechanical, and fire / life safety equipment within the data center.
- Serve as a technical resource to support Amazon within its data centers.
- Ensure data center equipment supporting mission-critical servers achieves very high uptime (target >
99.999%).
