Your Opportunity:

As a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner (PCNP), you'll make a profound impact on patients and their families, combining your clinical expertise with your passion for teaching, mentoring, and leading. Enhance patient care across diverse settings - community, rural, continuing, and acute care - while supporting both patients and colleagues. Join two other PCNPs in mentoring our team, elevating palliative care standards, and contributing through education, research, and leadership. Enjoy the flexibility of working from a home office in north central Alberta, with travel within the North Zone. The home location of this position is negotiable within central areas of the North Zone. Depending on where you live, you may be eligible for a Remote Retention Allowance in addition to your regular pay. For more information, please visit A large part of this position includes virtual work but also requires face to face patient interactions. In future, this position will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 virtual NP consultation coverage throughout North Zone. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. Description:

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

CNA Certification in Palliative Care. McMasters Case Management Education. Meditech and Connect Care Trained. Previous experience in leadership role. Experience in program planning, education of adults, interdisciplinary practice, and research activities.
