Your Opportunity : Description :
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
PLEASE NOTE : Provisional Permit holders will be paid $ - $ per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article or (ii) as applicable.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment :

Additional Required Qualifications :
Minimum of 3-5 years’ recent nursing experience.
Computer skills are well developed in Meditech Care Manager, Microsoft office, Outlook.
Expertise in wound care, wound vac, continence care and ostomy care.
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work independently.
Utilizes expert nursing knowledge, complex decision-making and critical thinking skills, collaborative approaches to care, evidence informed practice, and strong nursing competencies.
Uses advanced knowledge, skills and judgment to improve client care and manage complex and challenging situations.
Evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills, compassionate and caring attitude, strong commitment to client safety and quality improvement initiatives, holistic and advanced assessment skills, adherence to the CNA professional Code of Ethics, Registered Nursing Competencies and an understanding of the Destination Home initiative for AHS is required.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
Preferred Qualifications :
A master’s degree in nursing or a related field is preferred. 1-3 years of Case Management experience.
Medicine / Surgery experience preferred.
