Our lovely client in Mississauga is looking for an experienced, HANDS-ON, Facilities Engineer that has :
1. In depth knowledge of Air Compressors (compressed air systems and air driers)
2. Very good knowledge of Centrifugal Pumps, and must be very good at troubleshooting pneumatic systems
3. Must have knowledge of Electrical systems, PLC, and HVAC systems, and some knowledge of filtering systems
4. Project Management Skills
The successful candidate will be able to ensure efficient operation of the facility’s building systems to minimize production interruption or delays. Provide facility maintenance and technical support to the inside and outside infrastructure of the building as well as to monitor and oversee maintenance requirements for the systems within the facility i.e., electrical, HVAC, plumbing, water, compressor, vacuum and coolant systems. Supervision of 1 direct report (unionized).

Responsibilities
Oversee, plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance and repair schedule and activities. Determine facility and equipment PM specifications
Schedule and monitor completion of PM activities on building systems.
Track facilities service requests and ensure completion within timelines and quality standards.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and find solutions to facilities, systems and building interior / exterior issues – implement corrective action to mitigate effects to production.
Coordinate and oversee contractors required for facilities and systems maintenance – negotiate contractor service pricing.
Determine and analyze PM and project costs
Use the JDE system for vendor management and approvals of quotations and work orders
Communicate with Managers, Engineers, and Quality, as appropriate if impacts to production
Promote a positive labour-management relationship, proper administration of the collective agreement and other Company policies and procedures.
Maintain CMF environmental system in accordance with ISO 14001.
Develop cost and waste reduction ideas to increase profitability.
Maintain a safe and effective working environment.
Analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy use, safety processes and recommend and implement improvements
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, legislated and Company health and safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in mechanical or industrial engineering.
3 years of experience in Facilities Management or as Facilities Engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment.
3 years of previous maintenance work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Knowledge of all building processes, facilities equipment, functions, repair practices - plumbing, electrical, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), air compressors, air dryers, oil filtration systems, pumps, energy management, life safety, general repairs, painting, and building codes, construction practices.
Operational knowledge and safe usage of above mentioned equipment
Understanding of mechanics, electrics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Forklift, aerial lift safety knowledge.
Knowledge of Employment, Labor and Health & Safety legislation.
ISO 9001, 14001, TS16949 / IATF Standards.
Knowledge of management practices within a unionized work environment.
Intermediate computer skills – Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Access, Lotus Notes, Internet.
Able to learn and work with building automation systems.
Ability to read building blueprints and drawings.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism to interact effectively with contractors and employees at all levels of the organization.
Energetic, driven, and self-motivated to meet team goals with minimal supervision.
Project management skills and the ability to execute a plan.
