Key Responsibilities :
- Draft wills, codicils and powers of attorney.
- Attend and witness signing meetings with lawyer and clients.
- Prepare and file probate applications with the court
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on file progress.
- Assist in the administration of estates, including preparing inventories of assets and liabilities.
- Take minutes and dictation, maintain filing systems, draft correspondence and scheduling meetings.
- Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, government agencies, and beneficiaries.
- Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, under supervision of the lawyer of record.
- Other general and administration office work as required (ie answer calls, schedule appointments, conduct conflict searches, open files, etc.).
