DISTRICT SUMMER CASEWORKER ASSISTANT – Marathon, Nipigon, Geraldton, ON
Full-Time Summer Employment for 8 Weeks:

• Monday to Friday (days).
• $24.50/hour.
  
  

This position will provide assistance to caseworkers in the District of Thunder Bay (Marathon, Nipigon, and Geraldton). Duties may include: Providing therapeutic support to children, youth, and caregivers in their homes; linking children, families, and youth to community resources; providing support to children and youth in care; supporting foster families; traveling between district offices to meet service demand; facilitating and supervising family time visits between children in the care of the Society and their families.

Qualifications:

• Degree, diploma or current enrollment in a social work, social service or child and youth care post-secondary program, or related human services program.
• Demonstrated ability to develop helping relationships with children, youth, and families.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, comfortable working with families in their homes.
• Will contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion with a commitment to the elimination of disparity and disproportionality in service outcomes.
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Valid “G” Driver’s License and safe driving record (i.e., no more than two driving offences in the past three-year period, and/or no more than five demerit points).
• Access to a personal vehicle and proof of one-million-dollar liability insurance coverage.
• Criminal Records Check – Vulnerable Sector deemed satisfactory to the Employer.
