Job description

Heavy Duty Mechanical Foundation Program Instructor

March 18 – April 05 (Tuesday to Friday)

and

On-call / As-Required

Duties : The College is looking to add instructors to our auxiliary roster for work on-call / as required (Apprentice and Foundation levels), as well as one instructor who is available March 18 – May 5th, to teach one Apprentice Level 3 section of Heavy Duty. As an instructor, you will deliver the provincial curriculum for the Heavy-Duty Mechanics trade in a way that meets the needs of your students, ensuring that your classroom and shop instruction is relevant and current.

Qualifications : Red Seal journeyperson status as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic with a minimum of five years of experience working in the trade required. In addition to excellent organizational, computer and interpersonal skills, previous teaching experience with adults, as well as experience working with apprentices and / or additional trades certificates are considered assets.

As an employee of College of the Rockies, the successful candidate is expected to be a lifelong learner who continues to develop his / her skills to help the College meet the needs of our students and our other valued clients.

Successful candidates may be required to complete a Criminal Record Check.

Salary : As per the Faculty Salary Schedule and depending on qualifications, instructional and related work experience, the salary for term, full-time employees is in a range from $44.89- $60.26 per hour (this includes 16% in lieu of benefits and vacation).
