In this role, you will be on-site for the majority of your working hours, at Lifemark Physiotherapy Max Bell which is located in the Max Bell Arena at Deerfoot and Barlow Trail. You cannot miss the red and yellow lego building when driving on Deerfoot. We are located on the second floor of the building. We have recently had renovations in our clinic and the area is very spacious and bright. Our clinic is surrounded by windows that offer an amazing view of downtown Calgary and mountains.
Max Bell has experienced therapists who have worked at this location for over 15 years. Many of these therapists have specialties and therefore the clinic is able to offer many specialized services, including but not limited to:
Psychotherapy
Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation
Stroke Rehabilitation

You belong hereif you value being able to leverage your psychological competencies as a trusted subject-matter expert to apply evidence-based and process expertise to meaningful step-care mental health programs across the mental health continuum (prevention, monitoring and intervention).
You will provide top quality whole-person care using your client-centered biopsychosocial approach with both multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams (i.e., physiotherapy, kinesiology, occupational therapy, vocational rehab specialist, case coordinators) and interdisciplinary mental health teams (psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists).
You will find purpose in this role by:
- Bringing your unique assessment competencies to a range of applications, from pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations to diagnostic assessments to guide treatment and psychosocial resource building
- Delivering individual and group treatment for conditions including anxiety, trauma, depression, somatic complaints, substance misuse, adjustment and interpersonal issues within the person’s psychosocial context
- Consulting with other mental health service team members and clinical interdisciplinary teams
- Developing new mental health program content for the unique needs of various client groups
- Leveraging novel approaches to the delivery of mental health services, including adjunct digital therapeutics
- Contributing to in-house training sessions and interdisciplinary case discussions
- Contributing to program outcome evaluations at the provincial and national level
Education and licensure
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (competency with adult populations; clinical (asset: counselling psychology, health / rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology)
- Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment
- Trauma training required
- Training/certifications with Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, EMDR and other evidence-based treatments highly desired
Applied experience
- 2 yrs. of clinical experience working with adult populations on return-to-work is preferred
- Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning
Additional abilities
- English and French services are offered. Proficiency in French is a strong asset.
