Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking 10 Driver/Operators for Vale Properties at the Sudbury, ON location! If you’re looking for a company that will give you the opportunity to learn and gain experience on pieces of equipment like vacuum trucks and high pressure water jetting units, apply today! No travel or accommodation will be provided.

What We Offer:

  • Temporary contract to June 5, 2026 with potential to go to full time!
  • $30 - $35 per hour
  • Eligible for Overtime
  • Monday – Sunday local staged opportunity at various mining operations plus adhoc work within Ontario as needed.
  • Shift work will be required, typical shifts will be 7-7 AM or PM
  • Opportunity to learn and gain experience on all pieces of equipment like vacuum trucks, high pressure water jetting units and chemical cleaning units!
  • Variety: changing work scopes from one day to the next – there is always a new challenge
  • Be a part of a true team. Our work is difficult but we get it done safely, with great people

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
  • Proficient in driving manual transmissions
  • 90% of your day is outside of the truck, boots on the ground!
  • Work safely at heights up to 100 meters in a labor intensive capacity
  • Climb safely into small vessels and tanks with industrial cleaning equipment – our experienced crew has your back
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property
  • Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Learn new skills every day by rigging in and out specialty equipment
  • Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports and safety documents
  • Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
  • Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • Valid class AZ or DZ licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
  • 1+ years of directly related work experience operating vacuum truck, chemical cleaning equipment, high pressure/water trucks and/or combo units is considered an asset, not required
  • Driving is in your nature, then passing CEDA’s Driver Assessment in a manual transmission will be a breeze (10, 13 and 18 speed)
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)

Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Experience and comfort with confined spaces
  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
