Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Clerk 3 provides receptionist duties for the Diagnostic Services department and is the primary point of contact for patients/clients receiving services in department. The Clerk 3 is responsible for the provision of a variety of clerical and administrative duties within the Diagnostic Services department. The Clerk 3 strives to provide best practice Diagnostic Imaging Services on a regional basis in order to promote good health and quality of life.

Experience

  • Experience as a clerk receptionist in a hospital or doctor’s office in the last five (5) years.
  • Experience with Diagnostic Services applications within the last five (5) years.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 education, Manitoba Standards.
  • Completion of a recognized medical terminology course or program, Level I and II (or equivalent).
  • Evidence of attending continuing education and/or in-services.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to display independent judgment.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis.
