Role: Credit & Collections Specialist
Contract Term: Through December 31, 2026
Location: Downtown Montreal
Work Model: Hybrid (2 days remote, 3 days in-office)
Compensation: $22/hour
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Credit & Collections Specialist to support global accounts receivable activities. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, clear and professional communication, and a client-focused approach to drive on-time payments, address account issues, and foster positive customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee collection activities for both high-value/low-volume and low-value/high-volume accounts in line with agreed payment terms.
Achieve or surpass collection KPIs and performance benchmarks.
Review customer accounts and invoices to confirm accuracy and completeness.
Investigate and resolve billing issues by working closely with customers and internal stakeholders.
Accurately log customer payments, follow-ups, and collection activity within internal systems.
Ensure all account actions and communications are properly documented and retained.
Generate and distribute customer statements, reminders, and collection reports to stakeholders.
Partner with global teams to streamline and enhance collection processes.
Follow up on overdue balances, initiate appropriate collection actions, and track payment arrangements.
Develop strong working relationships with key and strategic accounts.
Adhere to internal policies, procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Capture customer feedback and escalate issues or inquiries to the appropriate teams when needed.
Analyze account and industry trends and share insights with management.
Support additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in collections, using multiple communication channels (phone, chat, CRM).
Strong proficiency with Power BI, SAP, CRM platforms (Salesforce), and Microsoft tools (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required; Portuguese or other languages are considered an asset.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
College diploma required; university degree preferred.
Customer-focused, professional, and analytically driven approach.
