SUMMARY
The student assistant primarily engaged in research with secondary materials will assist faculty or members of the Dean's office with various research projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, editing, and typing of academic journal articles and books
- Develop and maintain files on issues related to the current project
- Do library and online research as required (e.g. review current literature, statistics, legal research, academic journals, surveys, online databases, etc.)
- Assist with photocopying, typing, filing, and overall organization of these materials
- Work on a variety of initiatives that the Faculty needs assistance with from internal marketing to students, student engagement, course programming
- Communicate with faculty, peers, relevant internal and external partners as directed by faculty
- Research, collate, and assist in planning relevant events and identify ways to connect students to alumni and industry as needed
- Create tracking systems and processes to ensure systems are in place to maintain strategies into the future
- Research, compile data and write papers to be incorporated into proposals a variety of Faculty purposes
- Prepare summary reports including headings and information which can be subsequently used to draft briefing notes or craft power point presentations

Salary Information :
Student Assistants are paid as per the following :
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) - BC Minimum WageOne year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) - BC Minimum Wage plus 8%With a post-secondary diploma or degree - BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
