Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine scope of work.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools for commercial buildings and condo / apartment buildings.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware.
- Site cleanup as required.
- Complete material take-offs for work tasks.
- Pre-plan tool and material requirements for projects.
- Manage material for work tasks in an efficient manner to minimize waste.
- Maintain active quality control program to ensure compliance with the Cavanagh GC Standards.
- Health and safety policy and procedures for self and other workers.
- Participate in business development with other internal team members to help build and grow the General Contracting sector.
- Manage, mentor and train internal staff.
Requirements :
3-5 years of relevant work experience.Red Seal Program an asset.Provide own tools as per the Cavanagh Tool ListValid driver’s license and own mode of transportation.Ability to work outdoors in various types of weather conditions (cold, rain, heat, etc,).Ability to meet physical demands of job.Impeccable integrity.Willingness to learn and grow professionally.Strength in analysis and creative problem solving.Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) is considered an asset.Tools Required :

The hourly range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $24.00 and $30.00 an hour. However, the range offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
