Scope
The City of Surrey is seeking a passionate, creative, and collaborative Media Specialist to join the Community Arts team at Clayton Community Centre. This role is dedicated to developing and delivering the Weekly Surrey Youth Media Program, a dynamic initiative that empowers youth to explore and express themselves through digital media arts.
As the Youth Media Program Assistant, you will lead and plan engaging weekly sessions that introduce young participants to a range of media arts practices, including video production, podcasting, photography, digital storytelling, and social media content creation. You will foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where youth can build creative confidence, develop technical skills, and share their voices through multimedia platforms. In addition to leading the media program, you will also support open studio youth-specific music programming in the Performing Arts Studio, helping to create a flexible and inspiring space for exploration, collaboration, and creative growth.
The candidate will be familiar with performing arts programs and events and have experience working with artists and the community. Reporting to the Performing Arts Programmer, the Performing Arts Program Assistant is a key member of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone pursuing a career in Arts, Culture or Heritage. This position works Friday to Saturday evenings.
