POSITION : One (1) Permanent Position - Finance Clerk
LOCATION : DSBN Education Centre - Financial Services
RATE OF PAY : $28.29 - $33.38 per hour
SCHEDULE : 35 hours per week - 12 Month Position
Position Summary :
Reporting to the Supervisor of Accounting, the successful applicant will be a key part of the DSBN’s Financial Services Department, helping the DSBN meet its accounting compliance standards through accurate analysis, auditing, and other key accounting duties.
The Finance Clerk provides support to school administration in the development and maintenance of accurate financial information and controls. The individual provides support and assistance with training to the schools in the use of the DSBN's financial information systems (Sparkrock - SR365 and School Cash.Net); analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and preparing adjusting journal entries; balancing the DSBN's general ledger; providing ongoing support and budget variance analysis to school administration.
Other duties will include but are not limited to, accounts receivable administration, Charitable Trust annual return, DSBN's HST rebate, petty cash claims, payment request creation, and provide support to the Financial Services management team in achieving reporting deadlines. Helping the DSBN meet its accounting compliance standards through accurate analysis of confidential information, auditing, and other key accounting duties.
