Role Overview

The Junior Accountant / Accountant will support assurance and accounting engagements for owner-managed businesses and other clients. This role is ideal for someone beginning their public accounting career or an experienced accountant seeking continued development in a professional services environment. You will work closely with senior team members while gaining exposure to a broad range of client files.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of compilation and review engagements.

• Prepare working papers, financial statements, and supporting schedules in accordance with ASPE.

• Support audit and assurance engagements as required.

• Perform account reconciliations and analytical procedures.

• Assist with corporate and personal tax return preparation, where applicable.

• Maintain organized and accurate client files.

• Communicate with clients to obtain information and respond to inquiries.

• Collaborate with senior accountants and managers to meet engagement deadlines.

• Stay current with accounting standards and firm methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in a public accounting environment.

• Enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program (or intent to enroll) is preferred.

• Familiarity with CaseWare, CaseView, Taxprep, or similar public accounting software is an asset.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a client-service environment.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Team-oriented attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow.
