Job Summary / Position Function
As a manager, to provide accounting, tax and advisory services to clients by supporting Partners, co-workers and staff. Responsible to assist the firm team in leadership, client management / business development (internal & external), quality control and compliance.
Specifically Accountable To
- Lead, manage and assist with multiple client engagements in the planning, preparation and review of financial statements and T2 corporate tax return reviews for corporate year-ends
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of client projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
- Build strong client relationships by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance client satisfaction including on-boarding.
- Assist with planning, preparation, review and sign-out of T1 Personal Income Tax returns
- Assist with the preparation, review and sign-out of T3 trust and estate services
- Assist with preparation of tax compliance work, CDA's, Section 85 tax planning
- Assist with review of bookkeeping, GST, information slips and summaries
- Perform income and other tax research
- Provide training and feedback to accounting and bookkeeping staff as necessary after review of work.
- Liaise, as needed with clients
- Corresponding with taxation authorities on various matters, as necessary
- Perform miscellaneous duties and ad hoc special projects, as requested
Qualifications
5+ years progressive work experience in a public practice firm working with various clients concurrentlyCPA Designation and full compliance with CPA requirementsStrong knowledge of accounting standards along with federal and provincial employment standardsProficiency in Income tax legislation, research and complianceProficiency in Financial reporting, Finance, Strategy and governance, Management accountingProficient in Microsoft Office Software, and various tax preparation software / programs such as Profile, TaxprepExperience with CCH iFirm, Caseware / Caseview.Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracyHigh level of professionalism and courtesy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills combined with ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.Demonstrated attention to detailStrong analytical skillsWorks well independently and as a supportive team player working with all departments.Subject to strict confidentiality and privacy rules to protect sensitive financial and personal information.Educational Requirements
