Compensation
Effective September 1, 2024 - $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, 2024 - $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note : Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour / week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour / week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar / lab in each course.
Duties
Note : This course is scheduled to be offered online.
The focus of this course is to examine the core institutions of Canadian government, including federalism, parliamentary government, electoral systems, the judiciary, constitutional rights, and the machinery of government, and to explore how these institutions shape and are shaped by political parties, Indigenous politics, and other social forces.
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
PhD in Political Science with a specialization in Canadian government and politics and evidence of active research interest and teaching experience in this area. PhD candidates engaged in thesis research in Canadian government and politics with relevant teaching experience will also be considered.
