Responsibilities Learn ServiceCore and manage the Dispatch team, being proficient enough to identify routing inefficiencies or issues and correct them, and to work a dispatch desk to cover absences.
Take responsibility for all permitting and ensure that permits are valid and renewed without lapses.
Take responsibility for all compliance with environmental, health and safety, employment, and commercial vehicle operation regulations.
Own the P&L for the brand, ensuring profitability targets are met through efficient operational decisions.
Directly supervise and support the Operations Manager and Yard Operations Manager.
Provide guidance and support to other supervisory and management staff as appropriate.
Liaise with Sales team and ensure alignment, meeting customer commitments and service expectations.
Ensure the quality of service that Chantler’s is known for is maintained, and that customer care is the focus of every employee.
Role model and reinforce TSS values.
Act as the trusted second in command for the General Manager, with the medium-term goal of being ready to step into that role.
Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a P&L, people, and operations 7+ years of experience in an operations role, preferably working up from entry level in an organization Experience in a regulated industry meeting compliance standards is mandatory Route based industry experience preferred (to support understanding of dispatching concepts and logistics) Strong computer skills and commitment to using available software to improve operating efficiency and decision-making Strong people skills – able to set expectations and have them met while still maintaining team morale Proven ability to problem solve, maintain customer relationships, and earn the respect of your team Able and willing to learn quickly Interested in career growth and proving yourself along the way Proven experience mentoring and developing teams and supervisory employees What We Offer Competitive wage Excellent fully paid benefits plan 5% match on your RRSP contributions Business casual workplace Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to grow within a stable and expanding organization On-the-job learning and exposure to a multi-brand operation We invite applications from all qualified individuals, including those from traditionally underrepresented groups.
