Position Summary
The Hydronics Designer is responsible for designing radiant floor heating and plumbing systems for residential and commercial applications. This role partners closely with engineers, project managers, and sales teams to develop efficient, compliant system layouts, generate accurate material estimates, and support projects from design through installation. This is a home-based position covering the Vancouver market.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design detailed radiant floor heating and plumbing system layouts using LoopCAD and CAD software
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop optimized system designs
- Prepare material take-offs, quotes, and cost estimates based on project requirements
- Conduct site visits as needed to assess project conditions and gather design inputs
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards, and safety guidelines
- Provide technical support to installation teams during project execution
- Review, revise, and update designs based on customer or internal feedback
- Maintain accurate project documentation and revision records
- Stay current on hydronic heating, plumbing technologies, and industry best practices
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical fieldProven experience designing radiant floor heating and / or plumbing systemsProficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, LoopCAD preferred)Working knowledge of MS Office SuiteStrong understanding of hydronic heating and plumbing system components and installation methodsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityCompensation & Benefits
Annual salary range : $75,000 – $85,000(Final compensation will be based on skills, education, and experience)
