The Opportunity:

Reporting into the Head, Community, Inclusion and Belonging (CIB), The Community, Inclusion and Belonging Strategist works collaboratively with various stakeholders across departments to support developing and implementing initiatives that advance equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) at Branksome Hall.

As a key member of the CIB team, you will collaborate with teams across the school to implement the school’s DEI Plan and strategic priorities. You will coordinate student-led initiatives, employee programs, partnerships, and community engagement activities. Furthermore, you will weave EDIB principles into the core of our academic experience, in shaping curriculum, pedagogy, co-curriculars, and organizational systems, ensuring Branksome Hall is an inclusive environment for all.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the school to design, coordinate and implement Community, Inclusion and Belonging (CIB) programs, initiatives, and events across the Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools.

  • Partner with the Head, CIB, and academic department to support the creation and design of EDIB-focused resources into curriculum, pedagogical approaches, co-curricular programs, and school-wide practices.

  • Contribute to idea generation and planning in anti-racism education, anti-discrimination education, and minoritized youth well-being in the K–12 context.

  • Support and lead the coordination of student-led initiatives, parent engagement, partnership development, and employee inclusion and affinity programs

  • Design and implement comprehensive employee programs, including developing learning resources, professional development opportunities, and capacity-building initiatives, to advance EDIB awareness, skills, and leadership while promoting continuous learning and reflection

  • Collaborate with teams to deliver professional learning and other strategic initiatives on mentoring, anti-racism, ReconciliAction, and civil discourse.

  • Serve as an advisor on student equity, inclusion, and belonging, providing evidence-based recommendations and support implementation of new student-focused priorities in alignment with school strategy and EDIB frameworks.

  • Provide research-based insight to inform EDIB-related recommendations and action planning to enhance an inclusive school culture, and collect or analyze research with the Chandaria Research Centre where appropriate.

  • Collaborate with the Communications team to produce accessible and inclusive materials and campaigns that reflect the diverse voices and lived experiences of the Branksome community.

  • Draft and maintain CIB communications, including newsletter updates, social media content, and website materials.

  • Partner with internal teams to coordinate logistics and materials, while supporting the development of BIC events and recognition initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

  • Graduate degree in Education, Social Sciences, Equity Studies, or a related field is required or 5 years of related work experience in an educational environment

  • Ongoing professional learning in areas such as inclusive curriculum design and pedagogical frameworks, anti-racism, reconciliation, and inclusive education is strongly preferred

  • 5 years experience developing, coordinating, or implementing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging (EDIB) initiatives within an educational or organizational setting

  • Proven ability to design and facilitate EDIB learning and development initiatives, including workshops, discussions, or professional learning on topics related to EDIB and social justice

  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration, and strong project management skills with planning events, creating inclusive resources, and supporting strategic or data-informed decision-making processes

  • Demonstrated ability to apply anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and reconciliation-informed frameworks to programs and policies

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive topics or confidential information, and capacity to work with empathy and cultural humanity

  • Strong problem-solving and adaptive thinking skills, with a proactive approach to emerging EDIB opportunities.

  • Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to inspire, engage, and mobilize others toward shared inclusion goals.

  • Familiarity with anti-racism or equity-focused office support is an asset.

  • Past experience supporting identity and culture-based affinity programs in work or school settings is an asset.

Target Hiring Range: $73,733.40 - $92,139.84
