On behalf of our client in the Financial Services Sector, PROCOM is looking for an IT Business Analyst.

IT Business Analyst – Job Description

Understand provided business requirements, translate them into technical requirements and assist in development of workstreams and sprints

Perform Gap Analysis on business & functional technical requirements

Proactively identify areas for further research and analysis

Coordinate troubleshooting of application issues

Conduct root cause analysis of issues and bottlenecks

Take part in all project phases to ensure completion by collaborating with users and communicating status reports. Prepare high level status reporting from PM to VPs

Effectively manage relationships and expectations across all management levels

Guide and enforce processes are followed within the project, workstream, sprints and squads

IT Business Analyst – Mandatory Skills

Experience with Oracle financial system modules; OEB, Cloud Fusion applications

3+ years of experience in the insurance / reinsurance financial service industry

Experience with reporting design, applications, and databases

5+ Technical analysis experience with high exposure to finance business language and processes

Very good understanding of project management methodology and process

Ability to host brainstorming sessions with large and diversified audiences

Ability to drive initiatives from requirement up to delivery

Proficiency in working with and querying large data sets using SQL

Good problem-solving skills and an understanding of business dynamics

Team-oriented and highly collaborative

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (technical users to executives)

IT Business Analyst - Nice to Have Skills

Knowledge of Accounting and Financial systems processes and operations including End of Month, End of Quarter, End of Year cycles

3+ years Agile methodology experience including hybrid Waterfall Agile processes

Experience with regulatory financial reporting & IFRS17 principles

Experience with OSFI regulatory reporting

Completion of business analysis certification

Scrum master certification or course completion

High level working knowledge of multiple complex software and hardware platforms
